Nail art by Daisy from Petite Peinture

Today I’m showing you guys how to create a simple cranberry halfmoon nail art. This look uses pretty basic colors that compliment almost any outfit. For example, you could easily pair this with a cute white/beige sweater and dark red jeans, or a simple cranberry colored dress for a holiday dinner.

Step One: First, paint two coats of a nude polish as your base. I’m using Color Club Natures Way. Let it dry for 3-5 minutes, then apply a layer of fast drying top coat. I’m using Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat. Allow 15-20 minutes for that layer to dry. The key here is patience! :-)

Step Two: Next, I place binder stickers at the base of my nail beds. These are available at any office supply store or the office supply section of a department/grocery store. I got mine at Target.

Step Three: Apply a layer of Oxblood red over the tape to the tip of your nails. Try to pick a color that can be opaque with one coat. I’m using Color Club Feverish.

Step Four: Remove the tape after within 30 seconds to 1 minute of applying the oxblood red. Allow it to dry for 6-8 minutes.

Step Five: Clean up your cuticles with a square-head brush and some nail polish remover. Apply a layer of top coat and voila! You’re done. :-)
