Like the original title of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, this polish is not what it might first appear to be. Whether you're warm or cold to start, a change of temperature will surely invite a closer look.
First Impressions is a thermal polish that transitions between stone (warm) and cornflower blue (cold) with holographic glitter and blue-to-purple shifting shimmer.
This shade is part of the Jane Austen Collection.
Temperature reactive polish has a typical shelf life of 6 months - 1 year and may begin to lose their ability to change color after that. The polishes are not kept in temperature controlled containers during transit, and may require time to cool off/warm up upon arrival before color transitioning can be seen.
Opaque in 2-3 coats.
This nail polish dries slightly textured. We recommend applying clear top coat over the nail polish for a smooth, longer lasting mani! Applying topcoat to your temperature reactive nail polish will not affect its ability to change color.
Our photos are taken with daylight bulbs that replicate sunlight. Holographic nail polish looks best under sunlight and concentrated indoor lighting (e.g. halogen lights in the kitchen!).

This is a quality polish. The consistency is similar to Essie but not as streak-prone. The brush is a little narrower than I like because I have bigger hands/nails, but that wasn’t a big deal. The effect of the polish works best when you have even whites of the nails as that is where it turns darker. I would order from this company again.
This is pretty IF you apply the top coat to make it shinny. Other wise it dries matte and I wasnt expecting that. Also the glitter makes it chunky/ not smooth which is annoying to me. I liked the colors when wearing a top coat but I want to return because I dont love it like some of my other LLP's
It covers the nail great! I love both cold and hot color.
My daughters and I were super excited to try this polish, but that excitement didn’t last long because first it took 2-3 coats just to get it thick enough that it wasn’t see-through. Then just 24hrs later it was coming off. Yes, I used base coat, 3 layers of this polish, then a gel topcoat. I did everything right. It took about 3hrs to finish all of our nails. We are disappointed especially for the price we paid. I tried to add pictures but it wouldn’t let me. The only good thing I have to say about this polish is it did change colors. But even applying it was weird. It was goopy and felt like it was drying before I could swipe the brush down my nail.
Hi Brandi! We're so sorry First Impressions did not work as expected. Please check your email for a message from our Customer Experience Team.
Because it was blue when I applied it, and stayed blue, I thought perhaps the color-changing properties weren't working. But when I took a hot shower later on, immediately I noticed the dramatic color changes and since then it's been really fun. I love the look of blue "French tips" when the color is in transition. Only needed 2 coats for a fully opaque wash of color, and it's such a pretty shade range. I have three of the Jane Austen polishes and this one is definitely my favorite!
