My Dear Cassandra
My Dear Cassandra
Like the letters Jane Austen wrote to her older sister and best friend that give insight into her life, this polish at first appears to be a simple warm gray, that is then brought to life with a purple and blue shimmer adding depth and complexity.
My Dear Cassandra is a gray-taupe shimmer polish with strong blue-to-purple shifting shimmer.
This shade is part of the Jane Austen Collection.
Opaque in 2-3 coats.
This nail polish dries smooth. We still recommend applying clear top coat over the nail polish for a longer lasting mani!
Our photos are taken with daylight bulbs that replicate sunlight.

I have loved all my polishes and this one is no exception
I was skeptical about this color... I like blues, but I tend to like multichromes and bolder colors -- but this is turned out to be one of my all time favorites!! NONE of the pictures capture the color, which can only be described as sheerly magical! Since the backdrop is truly taupe, all the color you see is shimmer glowing at you - and it glows blue, even in super low light (with this pink sheen over the blue at certain angles, and brightnesses).. I felt like my nails should've been on the hands of some woodland water sprite! If you want a GORGEOUS, subtle, professional color - this is it! .... .... But the polish had a TERRIBLE consistency (maybe I got an old bottle?), but it was stringy, and dragged on itself with each coat (and really needs to be fully opaque for the magical look)... This is also a color where if the finish isn't perfect, it doesn't look great... It took me over 3 hours and 2 days to finish this manicure - and I wasted an entire 1/2 of the bottle in the process!! ... having to strip nails down and start over on several of them, some several times... Since it's only going to be good for 1 more manicure, and I loved the color so much, I really want to buy another bottle; but I don't want to waste money using up SO much product, while driving myself insane! ... So unless I got a dud, I would only recommend this polish if you take your own bottles to the salon, or have extreme patience!.... ... PS) Side-note on Jane Austin Collection; while I didn't really have any trouble applying Sense and Sensibility, it also took a full half bottle for one manicure (that one just needed more coats)... ... And they are small bottles, but all my other LLPs have only used somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of the bottle for each manicure... ... Maybe something to keep in mind...
Very pretty shade
Such a gorgeous color! I used the base coat, top coat, and 3 layers of the color and it lasted a solid 5 days - which is very impressive considering how rough I am on my hands.
